Special Education Part I 

Is an introductory course that focuses on the theory and practice underpinning special education. This course explores the exceptionalities, teaching strategies, program planning and other issues related to teaching and learning in all classrooms.

Special Education Part II 

This course extends the knowledge and skills of Part I and provides candidates with more in depth information and practice in special education. This course focuses on developing programs based on appropriate assessment for students identified as exceptional.

Special Education Specialist

This course expands on the knowledge and skills of Part II and continues to focus on theory and practice in special education. The course also provides candidates with more in depth information and practice in special education with a particular focus on legal issues and leadership in the field of special education.

Teaching Combined Grades

This course examines the possibilities in teaching a combined grade. Participants will explore planning, instruction and assessment in practical and helpful ways. Many practical resources will be shared and highlighted.
