PQP courses
ETFO’s Principal Qualification Program
For the last five years ETFO has offered a superior principal qualification program. These blended courses are taught by exemplary instructors who foster atmospheres of inquiry and professional leadership. Teachers across Ontario recognize ETFO’s PQP as an exceptional leadership experience.
ETFO PQP PART I
If you have or will have successfully completed an additional qualification needed to take the PQP Part I before the start of the course, and it is not on your Certificate of Qualification, you can download the Conditional Admission to the Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP), Part I Course form from the Ontario College of Teachers website:

PQP Part I – In order to be admitted to PQP Part I you need:
- To have 5 years successful teaching verified by a Superintendent in your district school board
- To be certified in 3 divisions, one being Intermediate (e.g., Primary, Junior, Intermediate), and
- To have one of the following:
- 2 specialist certificates, or
- a master’s degree, or
- one specialists certificates and half a master’s degree

ETFO PQP PART II
If you have or will have successfully completed the PQP Part I before the start of the course, and it is not on your Certificate of Qualification, you can download the Conditional Admission to the Principal’s Qualification Program (PQP), Part 2 Course form from the Ontario College of Teachers website:

PQP Part II – In order to be admitted to PQP Part II from any provider you need:
- To have completed PQP Part I
- It is not mandatory to complete the Practicum before being admitted to PQP Part II however, Part II will not be granted until the Practicum has been completed.
