The Environmental Education Part 1 Additional Qualification course employs a critical lens to explore in a holistic and integrated manner the theoretical foundations of ecological literacy, the earth’s grand systems and the reciprocal relationships between the earth’s system and human systems. It explores environmental issues, engages in problem solving, and investigates ways that students can take action to improve the environment through strategies that promote critical thinking through environmental, ecological and sustainability literacy. This is inclusive of evolving topics such as Land Acknowledgement and its importance, Indigenous traditional ecological knowledge, global citizenship and responsibility.

- OCT member in good standing
- Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
- Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:

- Intermediate
- Senior
