The Environmental Education Specialist Additional Qualification course builds off of the knowledge and skills acquired in Environmental Education Part 1 and the extension, application and design of learning opportunities developed in Environmental Education Part 2. Concepts such as sustainability and ecological literacy are integrated into environmental education planning, implementation and assessment in a holistic way. Candidates will explore leading change in developing instructional strategies and curricular experiences in a safe, inclusive and diverse learning environment.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Environmental Education Part 2; and
- Two years of successful teaching experience, with one year specific to the role, certified by a supervisory officer*
Teaching Experience Form
Candidates are responsible for ensuring they satisfy the specific eligibility prerequisites.
*Teaching Experience forms must be submitted to ETFO AQ (see policies and forms) prior to the start of the course. Failure to submit the necessary documents will result in the candidate being removed from the course.
