The Equitable and Inclusive Schools Part 1 Additional Qualification course explores the foundation for inclusive learning and approaches to intentionally embracing inclusive learning environments by acknowledging, honouring and celebrating the diverse voices represented in our schools. Candidates critically consider what an equitable and inclusive school looks like, feels like and sounds like for all students recognizing the diversity of learners’ strengths, styles, voice and incorporating them in curriculum planning, assessment, interactions and experiences. Course objectives include understanding the impact of informal (hidden) curriculum on equity and inclusivity in the school community; creating a learning environment in which students are engaged in constructing and sharing their own knowledge.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing
- Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
- Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:

- Junior
- Intermediate
- Senior
