This Part 2 course continues to explore and extend the theoretical foundations, development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, the inclusive learning environment and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning with inclusion and equity in mind. Candidates will examine how the knowledge and application of legislation helps to support equitable and inclusive schools including but not limited to the Ontario Human Rights Code, Anti-Racism Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The course allows for collaboration, colleague feedback and fosters a safe space for new learning.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent or transitional teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Inclusive Classroom Part 1; and
- One year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer
- Submission of Certificate of Teaching Experience Form to certify experience (found in the Policies and Forms section)
