This course is designed to extend educator skills and knowledge with a focus on practical instruction and assessment strategies in grade 7 and 8 History. With all that has changed in our world today, Candidates have opportunities to explore new and engaging ways of pulling from the past and making meaning of the present in a changing world including the lived experiences and stories of the students in their classrooms. Course objectives include adopting critical thinking and creating opportunities to communicate and apply new learning through practical experiences, discussion, networking and sharing the products of their learning in an ever evolving society.
Note: This course will not give teachers certification to teach in another division. ETFO does not provide ABQ courses as only a faculty of education can offer these courses. Visit OCT website for additional information.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing
- Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
- Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:

- Intermediate
- Senior
