Recognizing that the Arts is essential to students’ intellectual, social, physical, and emotional growth and well-being, this Integrated Arts Additional Qualification course explores the relevance of diverse artistic practices, both traditional and contemporary, of a variety of cultures. Candidates explore how to adopt instructional strategies that highlight learners as part of a living and changing culture, appreciate the similarities and differences among the various forms of artistic expression of people around the world and offer students unique opportunities to engage in imaginative and innovative thought and action that develops their ability to communicate and represent their thoughts, feelings, and ideas in numerous ways.
Candidates will have opportunities to communicate and apply learning through practical experiences, reflections, discussion about music, visual arts, drama and dance.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent or transitional teaching certificate
- Basic Qualifications in Primary or Junior divisions or Intermediate or Senior divisions in general studies
