The Additional Qualification Course, Language, Grades 7 and 8 explores the theoretical foundations, the development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, inclusive learning environments and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning. Candidates are provided opportunities for professional reading, reflection, dialogue, and expression that is engaging, meaningful, authentic and relevant.
Course objectives include acknowledging student voices and identities, celebrating their stories and experiences and providing candidates opportunities to reflect on professional materials and dialogue, as appropriate, to participate in experiential and authentic school-based experiences in light of the curriculum.
Note: This course will not give teachers certification to teach in another division. ETFO does not provide ABQ courses as only a faculty of education can offer these courses. Visit OCT website for additional information.

- OCT member in good standing
- Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
- Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:
