The Additional Qualification Course, Science and Technology, Primary and Junior, Part 1 explores the theoretical foundations, the development of learners, program planning and implementation, assessment, the learning environment and ethical considerations related to teaching and learning in the primary and junior divisions.

- OCT member in good standing
- Permanent Teaching Certificate (Certificate of Qualification and Registration)
- Basic Qualifications in at least one of the following divisions:
