Teacher Leadership Part 2 Additional Qualification course builds on the foundation of leadership from Part 1 and provides a more in-depth understanding of teacher leaders with opportunities to broaden their leadership skill and provide possible career development in schools and the school system. Candidates will have opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue and consider varying perspectives in order to develop their own leadership frameworks with an equity lens.
Teacher leaders will couple theory with practice to generate professional development resources for their respective educational communities. Candidates will continue to apply their new knowledge as they explore communication, conflict resolution and capacity building within their organizational context.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent or temporary teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Teacher Leadership Part 1; and
- One year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer.
- Submission of Certificate of Teaching Experience Form to certify experience (found in the Policies and Forms section)
