The Teacher Leadership Specialist Additional Qualification course examines a candidate’s individual intent and vision to enhance the learning experiences of both students and colleagues through exploring various leadership identities, leadership theories, leadership in action and capacity building. In this course, candidates will learn how to anchor their leadership skills and personality traits in equitable practice, trusting relationships, courageous conversations, proactive decisions and intentionality by solidifying their knowledge and demonstrating their new learning through various leadership projects to be implemented in their school and community.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Teacher Leadership, Part 2; and
- Two years of successful teaching experience, that is certified by a supervisory officer*
Teaching Experience Form
Candidates are responsible for ensuring they satisfy the specific eligibility prerequisites.
*Teaching Experience forms must be submitted to ETFO AQ (see policies and forms) prior to the start of the course. Failure to submit the necessary documents will result in the candidate being removed from the course.
