The Teacher Librarian Part 1 Additional Qualification course explores and introduces the important role of the Teacher Librarian within a school community and outlines ways to ensure the library becomes a Learning Commons for all. It aims to enhance professional practice and extend knowledge and skills that will prepare teachers to co-ordinate an integrated school curriculum as part of a school library information centre focusing on inclusive, diverse use of multi-lingual, diverse and identity representing texts/resources. It is designed to explore the critical role that teacher librarians play in a successful school library programs.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent or transitional teaching certificate
- Basic Qualifications in Primary or Junior divisions or Intermediate or Senior divisions in general studies
