This course aims to further develop the professional practice and extend knowledge and skills learned in Teacher Librarian Parts 1 and 2. It is designed to explore the leadership role that teacher librarians play in successful school library programs. As leaders, adopting inquiry based, varied tools and resources in assessment, by collaboratively working with teachers, students and the school wide community will be examined. Candidates will be equipped to confidently assume professional practice and mentorship for teachers in various areas and the Ontario Curriculum.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Librarianship, Part 2; and
- Two years of successful teaching experience, one in the area of librarianship that is certified by a supervisory officer*

Candidates are responsible for ensuring they satisfy the specific eligibility prerequisites.
*Teaching Experience forms must be submitted to ETFO AQ (see policies and forms) prior to the start of the course. Failure to submit the necessary documents will result in the candidate being removed from the course.
