Visual Art Part 2 continues the teaching and learning goals of Visual Art Part 1 by developing depth and breadth of experiences for educators to support and extend knowledge and understanding of the creative and critical analysis process, effective teaching strategies for approaching lesson and unit planning, and assessment in visual arts at the elementary level.
The course focuses on hands-on, engaging, culturally relevant, inclusive and equitable forms and contexts in Art with strategies such as visual literacy skills and learning skills needed to understand images, media and art work including traditional and contemporary processes and media related to art, craft and design, installation, performance, digital, multi-media work, and multi-disciplinary work.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent or transitional teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Visual Arts Part One; and
- One year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer.
- Submission of Certificate of Teaching Experience Form to certify experience (found in the Policies and Forms section)
