The Special Education Part 2 Additional Qualification course takes a more in-depth look at various psychological assessments, non-teacher professional assessments, and how they strive to best meet the needs of students with exceptionalities. It delves into the importance of IEP programming by exploring the Ministry of Education Policies, legislation and laws and the funding model for Special education.
Prerequisites
- OCT member in good standing with a permanent teaching certificate
- Successful completion of the Additional Qualification course: Special Education, Part 1; and
- One year of successful teaching experience, certified by a supervisory officer*
Teaching Experience Form
Candidates are responsible for ensuring they satisfy the specific eligibility prerequisites.
*Teaching Experience forms must be submitted to ETFO AQ (see policies and forms) prior to the start of the course. Failure to submit the necessary documents will result in the candidate being removed from the course.
